Pediatric occupational therapy (OT) is a specialized service dedicated to helping children develop the physical, cognitive, sensory, and emotional skills they need to thrive in daily activities and reach important developmental milestones. Pediatric OTs work with children from infancy through adolescence who may face a variety of challenges that impact their ability to engage in age-appropriate tasks.
Therapy sessions are typically play-based and designed to be engaging and fun, while being tailored to each child’s specific needs. Pediatric OTs collaborate closely with parents, caregivers, teachers, and other professionals to create personalized treatment plans.
The ultimate goal of pediatric occupational therapy is to empower children to reach their full potential, enabling them to fully participate in home, school, and social environments as they grow and develop confidence and independence
